Circle & Square respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and in the course of our work, why we collect it, how we look after it and the rights you have.

Who we are

Circle & Square is a South African organisational development business that designs leadership, team and culture programmes. For the purposes of POPIA, Circle & Square is the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect

  • When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number and anything you include in your message, whether you use the form on our Connect page, email us or call us.
  • When you take part in our programmes: the contact and role details your organisation or you provide so that we can plan and deliver the programme.
  • When you visit this website: basic technical information that web servers record automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use this to keep the website secure and working properly. If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect anonymised usage information through Google Analytics (see Cookies and analytics below).

Why we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and discuss how we can help.
  • To plan, deliver and follow up on the programmes your organisation has engaged us for.
  • To keep records we are required to keep by law.
  • To keep this website secure and running smoothly.

We process personal information with your consent, to carry out or prepare for an agreement with you or your organisation, to meet our legal obligations, or where it is in our legitimate interests and does not override your rights. We do not use your information for any purpose that is not compatible with the reason you gave it to us.

Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, such as the companies that host our website and email, and Google, which provides our website analytics, and only to the extent they need it to provide that service. These providers are required to keep your information confidential and secure. We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure. This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to the information you send us is limited to the people who need it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or for as long as the law requires. When it is no longer needed, we delete or destroy it securely.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses the cookies it needs to work. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are viewed and for how long, so that we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as a shortened version of your IP address, your device and your browser type. We do not use advertising cookies.

You can accept or decline analytics cookies when you first visit the website, and change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link. Google processes this information on our behalf and may store it outside South Africa, with safeguards in place as required by POPIA.
